Where's the Leadership

Well...I gotta tell all of you that I had a good laugh yesterday when I read about Rush Limbaugh saying that President Obama was "Spreading fear." Huh?! Was my initial thought, then a bit of a feeling that Rush (or is it NoRush...as in, I certainly don't get one when I hear about him) will do anything to get his name out there.

If I recall, the last administration (the one NoRush adamantly supported) spent the better part of the last eight years trying to scare the daylights out of us. Their mission seemed to be to spread fear every chance they got while giving the McCarthy era a run for its money. For those of us who like to analyze that kinda stuff, we knew that a lot of it's based on selfish motives to perpetuate an agenda. Lie the big lie, say it enough, and the people will believe you, to paraphrase Adolf Hitler. Except...the American public got wise and stopped believing!

NoRush is singing an old song. One that his fringe may believe but the rest of us find absurd, tired, and a grasping for straws/confused stratgy.

It's interesting that Republicans don't come out against NoRush, because if you look at the Party's history...one that is lead by Lincoln (interestingly enough Obama's model), and has Eisenhower in its fold (he of the "Beware of the Military/Industrial Complex" quote) you would think that someone would say, "Stop! We're better than that!"

I think it's time for the Republican Party to find its true voice, one that revels in its real history and leadership and leaves the NoRush crap behind.
