Automotive Leader Can Be An Ethical Leader Too

Last night I was watching TV when couple of a Mercedes Benz commercials came on. You've all seen them, I'm sure. The ones that talks about, and show, how their new technology helps drivers stay awake (since...as they note, after 4 hours most drivers get drowsy) and also keeps them from drifting into other lanes.

These are both great advances in driver safety. But I must question the ethics behind only having them only in Mercedes models. Why couldn't the company license these safety features to other manufacturers? They could even make the other auto companies note that they're using Mercedes technology. But again...it's profits before people.

Saving lives should be the primary factor but it's not. So - only those who can afford the luxury of a Mercedes will be spared from possibly falling asleep at the wheel or drifting into an accident in the next lane over. I just don't get it.

Sure the shareholders might be upset. However, the royalties from the other manufacturers should offset any lose in direct car sales reveues.

Leadership in everyone's safety should override profits for a few.

Why we need to follow the leaders in healthcare

It's rare when I'll discuss the same topic on each of my blogs. But...this is one of those times. This video link shows us how broken our healthcare system is and why.
Bill Moyers interviews Wendell Potter, a former Cigna Vice President. They talk about how the for-profit system runs a campaign of fear (made up, of course) and deception to prevent the U.S. from implimenting a government healthcare option plan.
This is about YOU!! Please watch it. You'll realize who's leading the assault against you and your health and how other countries are leading the way.
