Let the man lead

I don't get why there's such an uproar about the President giving a speech to school children. Aren't Presidents supposed to reach out to all the people? Why does every move he makes become an item for the opposition to jump on?

There's something infantile about protesting the President speaking to children. Perhaps he should ask his opponents to sit in a classroom and let him read a book to them. Maybe he should start with the constitution, then the Bill of Rights, and end with Eisenhower's Fairwell Speech and the Gettysburg Address. But they'd probably say it was socialism if he uses a public school and politicize that whole situation anyway. It's sad that our politicians have become such bickering twits.

  1. We have a long tradition that our leaders need and should communicate to the citizens of this country. With the age of the Internet and news 24/7, how nice would it be for our children to hear directly from our President -LIVE. I can not find the words to express my anger at the "fools" who did not let our children hear the President
